Weeks after the writers' strike concluded in late September, Pete Davidson, Ice Spice, and Bad Bunny will help launch the newest season of "Saturday Night Live."
On Wednesday, NBC revealed that "SNL" Season 49 would begin on October 14 and that Davidson would serve as host for the second time this year. Ice Spice, best known for her hits "In Ha Mood" and "Princess Diana," will be his musical guest as she makes her Studio 8H debut.
Ice Spice has had a successful year thus far in 2023 as a result of the releases of her EP Like..? and its follow-up deluxe as well as her collaborations with Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Pink Pantheress.
After months of stress and uncertainty, the Writers Guild of America and major Hollywood studios tentatively agreed to end the strike on September 24. SAG-AFTRA expressed its support for guild members who are a part of the "SNL" cast on Wednesday despite the fact that actors are currently on strike.
"They are not in violation of SAG-AFTRA strike rules, and we support them in fulfilling their contractual obligations," the union said in a statement shared with The Times. "The program is a SAG-AFTRA non-dramatic production under a separate agreement that is not subject to the union’s strike order."
